Update time : 2025-12-18

Common faults and solutions of KUKA robots are as follows:

1. Electrical system malfunction

Power issue

Check the status of the power module indicator light and confirm whether the output voltage is normal. If the power module is damaged, it should be replaced promptly.

Aging or damaged power cords can lead to poor contact and malfunctions, necessitating replacement.

Communication failure

Prioritize checking whether the communication cable connections are secure and whether the interfaces are oxidized.

If the communication interface board is damaged, it needs to be replaced, and the communication parameter settings should be checked for correctness.

Overheat protection

Poor heat dissipation or excessively high ambient temperature can lead to overheating faults. It is necessary to inspect the cooling device and optimize the working environment.

2. Mechanical system failure

Servo motor failure

Abnormal vibration or noise may indicate rotor damage. It is necessary to disassemble and inspect the surface wear or winding condition, and replace the rotor if necessary.

Incorrect setting of the reduction ratio or leakage in the balance cylinder can lead to inaccurate positioning, necessitating parameter adjustment or component replacement.

Control cabinet fault

A short-circuited circuit board or damaged components require inspection and repair by professionals to prevent further damage.

Damage to mechanical structures (such as worn bearings or broken gears) requires repair or replacement.

3. Other common issues

Touch screen anomaly: refresh firmware or replace touch screen components.

Zero point loss: Check the status of the EDS data carrier to ensure that the zero point information is retained even after shutdown.

It is recommended to regularly maintain equipment, optimize the working environment, and standardize operational procedures to reduce the occurrence of malfunctions.

Regular maintenance and upkeep are still necessary for the long-term use of robots. Please feel free to contact us whenever you encounter robot malfunctions or need maintenance.
